FA REGIONAL TALENT CENTRES TO EMERGING TALENT CENTRES

The Female Talent Pathway is changing so the WRGFL have attached a PowerPoint Presentation that shows how and why the Female Talent Pathway is changing over the coming seasons. WEST RIDING COUNTY LEAGUE GIRLS SQUADS

As part of the change to the Talent Pathway many Girls/Mixed Leagues will be providing playing opportunities for the most talented female players in our Leagues. The West Riding County Leagues are creating 3 squads ready to compete in season 2022/2023, those squads will be at U12, U14 and U16. Players playing at U11, U13 and U15 will be able to play up a year if wishing to be involved in one of the Squads.

The West Riding County League Girls Squads will be managed/coached by independent coaches (minimum UEFA B level) who will oversee a training and matchday programme. The Managers/Coaches will have no involvement in any youth teams so will be totally impartial when it comes to squad selection. Girls will play for their Clubs on a weekly basis and should there be a clash of fixtures, league games will be postponed. At this point we have no idea how game time will look for the squads but we would hope to have a minimum of 4 games per season.

WEST RIDING COUNTY LEAGUE GIRLS SQUAD TRIALS

We will be holding trials for the squads on 4, 11 and 18 September 2022 between 17:00-18:00 (Sundays, so no clash with games). Players will be asked to arrive no later than 16:45 to enable registration to take place. The trials will be held at the West Riding County FA, Fleet Lane, Woodlesford, LS26 8NX. The pitch is 3G so appropriate footwear will need to be worn. Depending on numbers wishing to trial the venue may change for one or maybe two age groups.

Players should ideally attend all 3 training sessions but should they be unable to attend them all it will not affect the selection process for them individually. 

TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR THE SQUADS

Training Sessions will be held on the following Sunday's throughout the 2022/2023 Season. Club Coaches and parents will be able to stay and watch all sessions.
